Background
I grew up in my fathers jewelry business in Germany. From the time I was four years old I was sitting at my fathers side watching him design jewelry. Just a year later I had my own little work place next to my dad and I was proud owner of a coping saw and some files. After I completed 10th grade in Germany I began a dual apprentice ship as a goldsmith and jewelry designer. When I was not learning in my fathers and other companies I went to profession school in Pforzheim to learn all the practical and theoretical aspects of becoming a goldsmith and designer.

I was working in my fathers company for ten years, and designed quite a few jewelry lines. My fathers jewelry was unique in design and one of a kind, he only worked with 18ct rose-gold and platinum with diamonds and super fine gemstones. His jewelry is exquisite, but very expensive! I knew then that if I wanted to continue in this business I would have to find my niche.

In 1994 I left the work force to be a dedicated mom to our children. When we immigrated to the USA in 1996 I brought all my tools with me, not knowing if I would ever use them again.

Beaded Jewels

A Valentine's Day Gift Card in the amount of $200,00 from my husband actually was the financing factor that got me started in 2004. When my daughter who just had turned six years old started to go to go school all day, it got pretty quiet at home and I was put before the decision to either find me a job and not be able to be home when the kids came home from school, or to start something on my own, but in turn be home for my children. After the first week of school had started the boredom set in and I ended up watching TV all day.

So I looked for the gift card and I went to a craft store near by and after prayer of where to be directed to, I found myself in the beading section. I thought about the admiration I have always had with beaded jewelry. I picked up some books and some supplies and went home. Needless to say I spend every dime that was on the gift card on beading supplies. I had no idea how to even start or what to do so I read the beading books, got all my tools out of the closet that I had brought over from Germany and dusted them off. The first thing I made was Ladybug Chokers. That was the start of something wonderful and exiting and the best thing was I could stay home.

The same year I started to sell my creations on craft shows which became the catalyst for Beaded Jewels. My designs became unique like the jewelry I use to design for my father. People were starting to notice the difference in my designs compared to other beaded jewelry. Lots of people also noticed the high quality of my jewelry and accessories even in the most of simple designs. Four almost four years I went to local craft shows.

In 2007 I became a US Citizen, which I wanted to do for a long time.

0n Jan 23rd 2008 Beaded Jewels was born and the website www.beadedjewels.biz which I designed as well was launched. Beaded Jewels does not have a physical store, but this is in the planning for the future.

My Name is Lexi Butler. I was born in Germany and I am a 46 year old Wahm (Work at Home Mom) happely married for 17 years and are blessed with 3 children. Besides being a devoted mom I am also certified Goldsmith, Jewelry Designer/Beading Artist and owner/creator of Beaded Jewels since January 2008. I offer exquisite line of handcrafted beaded, woven and wire-wrapped jewelry and accessories. Each piece I design is inspired with great passion and love. I take great pride in presenting handcrafted, high quality, sophisticated pieces at very reasonable prices. No two pieces are alike, many variations in style from subtle to the richest of colours - from simple to complex designs. I will duplicate a piece only by request to the customers who ordered the piece.
